Nothing OS 4.0 Stable Update Starts Rolling Out

Nothing OS 4.0 stable is finally here. After weeks of public beta testing,
Nothing has confirmed that the Android 16–based update will start rolling out to users from
21 November 2025 as an over-the-air (OTA) release.

The company announced the date via its community post, promising a smoother, more “flow”-focused
experience with deeper AI integration across the interface

Nothing OS 4.0 Stable Release Date & Rollout Plan

Nothing OS 4.0 stable will begin rolling out from Friday, November 21, 2025,
starting with select devices and regions. The rollout is phased, so not every user
will see the update on day one.

As usual, the update will be delivered via the built-in updater:
Settings > System > System update. If your phone is eligible but you don’t
see the notification yet, keep checking over the next few days.

Eligible Nothing & CMF Phones (Expected First Wave)

Nothing hasn’t published a final stable rollout list yet, but the current
Nothing OS 4.0 open beta gives a strong hint about the first devices in line.

These models are expected to be part of the first wave for the stable rollout,
followed by older Nothing phones and select devices under the CMF sub-brand in later phases.

Top New Features in Nothing OS 4.0 (Android 16)

Nothing OS 4.0 is built on Android 16, which already adds smarter notifications,
better large-screen support and improved background performance. On top of that, Nothing brings
its own visual and AI-driven upgrades.

1. AI Usage Dashboard

A new AI Usage Dashboard shows which AI models are active on your device
and how often they’re used, giving you more transparency and control over day-to-day AI activity.

2. Extra Dark Mode & Cleaner UI

Nothing has doubled down on its minimalist look with a calmer, more refined interface,
including an upgraded Extra Dark Mode, revamped lock-screen elements and
cleaner Quick Settings for easier one-hand use at night.

3. Better Multitasking with Pop-Up View

Multitasking gets an upgrade thanks to an improved Pop-Up View that lets you
run and quickly switch between two floating apps — handy when you’re replying to chats
while watching a video or tracking live scores.

4. Camera “Stretch” Preset & Imaging Tweaks

On supported models, Nothing OS 4.0 introduces a new camera “Stretch” preset
along with tuning updates for colour, contrast and overall image processing, aimed at more
dramatic portraits and flexible framing.

5. Performance, Battery & Customisation

• Smoother animations and transitions for a more fluid feel
• Tighter background optimisation for better battery life over Android 15 builds
• New widgets, lock-screen layouts and deeper system-wide customisation options

Overall, Nothing OS 4.0 is designed as a refinement update rather than a complete visual overhaul,
focusing on polish and everyday usability.

How to Check & Install Nothing OS 4.0 on Your Phone

1. Charge your phone to at least 50% and connect to Wi-Fi.
2. Open Settings on your Nothing phone.
3. Go to System > System update.
4. Tap Check for update.
5. If Nothing OS 4.0 appears, tap Download & install and wait for the process to finish.

As this is a major Android version jump, it’s strongly recommended to
back up your photos and important data before installing.

Should You Update to Nothing OS 4.0 on Day One?

If you like trying new features early and you’re already on the beta,
updating to the stable build will give you a more polished, bug-fixed experience.
Heavy gamers or users who rely on banking and enterprise apps might prefer to wait a few
days for initial feedback from other users before updating.

Either way, Nothing OS 4.0 looks like the biggest step forward since Nothing OS 3,
thanks to Android 16 at the core, smarter AI controls and a more mature, cleaner interface.
