Hello friends! If you are a POCO F5 user, get ready for some great news! The India build of HyperOS 2.0 is now released, and it brings some exciting new features. But, there is a little disappointment too – some things are still missing.

In today’s blog post, we will talk about the good and bad points of this POCO F5 HyperOS 2.0 Update, So let’s get started!

HyperOS 2.0: First Impressions

So first of all let’s talk about this update. This build of HyperOS 2.0.1.0 comes with Android 15, and it also has the latest security patch of March 2025. Hearing this made the heart happy, because we were all waiting for Android 15! There are also some UI changes in the system, which give a fresh vibe. Features of HyperCore and HyperConnect are also included in it, which enhance the overall experience a bit.

But one thing breaks the heart – the icons are still the same old. Seriously, what has happened to the POCO team? It’s been so many years, why didn’t you update the icons? Well, let’s move ahead and see what’s new.

New Features-

Let’s first share some happiness. There are some features with HyperOS 2.0 that I personally liked a lot.

1. New style of Launcher

A new blur effect option has come in the launcher, which gives a very cool look to your wallpaper. This means, you can completely customize your home screen.

There is a blur mode in the folder as well, which gives a premium feel to the UI. And yes, the animations are now much smoother than before – no lag or jitter! I liked this feature the most.

If you also want to take the look of your phone to the next level, then definitely check out these POCO F5 customization tips.

2. Lock Screen Lens Mode

A new lens mode has been introduced for the lock screen. This is a unique customization option that gives a fresh vibe to the lock screen. When I tried it, I really enjoyed it. It is a small thing, but makes the experience a little different.

3. Control Center and Animations

There are small improvements in the control center as well. The brightness panel now has auto-brightnessdark mode, and reading mode options all in one place, which is quite convenient to use. And yes, the animations are now quite polished – everything runs buttery smooth.

Bad News: What is Missing?

Now let’s talk about a little disappointment. There are a few things with HyperOS 2.0 that you were probably expecting, but they haven’t arrived yet.

1. AI Features

The biggest regret is that most of the AI features are missing in this build. Be it AI dynamic wallpapers or advanced AI features of gallery (like expansion mode), these are not available yet. Chinese phones or global builds of HyperOS 2.1 have some AI functionality, but we will have to wait for POCO F5.

2. Same old mode of Always-On Display

Many users were asking if always-on display will come in full mode now? But the sad thing is that it is still only for 10 seconds. There has been no major upgrade in this department.

3. Bloatware and Ads

The issue of bloatware is still the same. There are many unwanted apps pre-installed, and apps like theme manager or file manager show big full-page ads. This is a bit irritating, because when using a premium phone, this spectacle of ads does not look good at all.

4. Widgets and Icons

There is nothing big in the widgets department either. New widgets have been introduced with HyperOS 2.1 in the global versions, but these are the same old default widgets built in. And as I said earlier, the icons are also outdated. POCO, please do something!

What is in the future?

Now the question is should we be excited for this update? My answer is – yes and no. With Android 15 and smooth animations, this update provides a solid foundation. But for AI featuresnew widgets, and better bloatware management, we may have to wait for HyperOS 2.1.

The good news is that this update has already been rolled out for pilot testers and some users, and the full public rollout will also happen soon. If you have received this update, then do tell in the comments how your experience was!

Final Thoughts

So friends, this was a short review of HyperOS 2.0 for POCO F5. Some things win the heart, like the launcher’s blur effect and smooth animations, but some things, like missing AI features and bloatware, are a bit annoying.
