  • 2nd T20I (12 Aug 2025, Marrara Stadium, Darwin): South Africa 218/7 (D. Brevis 125*, T. Stubbs 31; B. Dwarshuis 2/24) beat Australia 165 by 53 runs cricket.com.au. Emerging batsman Dewald Brevis (nicknamed “Baby AB”) smashed an unbeaten 125 off 56 balls (8×6) – the highest-ever T20I score by a South African versus Australia. Brevis’s knock also made him the youngest South African centurion in T20I. (South Africa’s other scorers were Rassie van der Dussen, H. Pretorius etc., and Adam Zampa 0-39 was Australia’s sole wicket-taker.)

Rugby (Union)

Australia and South Africa meet in the Rugby Championship (southern-hemisphere Four Nations) in 2025, contesting the Mandela Challenge Plate. The Springboks are defending champions. The last meeting was in the 2024 Championship in Brisbane. On 10 Aug 2024 at Suncorp Stadium, South Africa thrashed Australia 33–7. In that match the Springboks ran in five tries: two by winger Kurt-Lee Arendse and one each by captain Siya Kolisi, Pieter-Steph du Toit and flanker Kwagga Smith.
